Caregiver support is provided by Cariloop to all nbkc bank employees at no cost. When you’re stressed or anxious about taking care of a loved one, Cariloop’s Care Coaches support you with the research, questions and next steps it takes to feel confident in your loved one’s care.

COVID-19 has made it abundantly clear just how many considerations go into taking care of our children. Our Care Coaches understand that counties and cities have varying regulations for backup care and will customize solutions for your specific needs and location. We’re already supporting many of our customers with this need and know it takes a village to navigate this stressful issue. If you’re feeling like you have to choose between work and family right now, let a Care Coach come alongside your family and explore every possible care option so you feel supported as you balance work and family.

Cariloop pairs you with a dedicated Care Coach on a secure online portal. Their Care Coaches are licensed/certified healthcare professionals and are equipped to support you as you care for a loved one of any age—from pediatrics to elder care.

MINDFUL KC

Mindful KC is available to Blue KC Members 24/7 and provides three free sessions, per issue, to meet with a Mindful Advocate and help with anything that is weighing on you. Mindful Advocates are licensed behavioral health clinicians who are experts at listening, navigating care, crisis management, benefits guidance and more to help get members on the path to feeling better. Blue KC members can talk with a Mindful Advocate by calling 833-302-MIND (6463), or the behavioral health number on the back of your member ID card. The Crisis Text line offers free, 24/7 support from anywhere in the U.S. Text HOME to 741741.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PLAN (EAP)

Your well-being, productiveness and happiness depend on balancing your life at home and your life at work. It’s difficult to be on task on the job if you’re worried about problems at home; and you can’t devote sufficient time to yourself and your family if you’re feeling overwhelmed by work issues.

nbkc offers employees two Employee Assistance Programs, Guidance Resources and New Directions.  Both programs may be used simultaneously.

The Employee Assistance Program is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to help you and your family find answers and resolve personal problems. Confidential support, guidance and resources are available to help you be happier and more productive.

Guidance Resources EAP Benefits Included

  •  Up to five in-person confidential counseling sessions
  • Legal information, resources and consultation; including a referral to a qualified attorney in your area for a free 30-minute consultation with a 25% reduction in customary legal fees thereafter
  • Financial information, resources and tools

New Directions EAP Benefits Included

  • One free call with an EAP clinician
  • The ability to connect you with a provider that suits your desires and needs
  • Staff to help you find resources to work through relationship challenges
  • A health resource library with a comprehensive collection of articles, videos, self-assessments, calculators and planners
  • Weekly tips and advice on how to work through stress, parenting, being your best at work and other helpful material – delivered right to your inbox
  • New Directions is available to members enrolled in the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City Medical Plan.
